M&M Lactation Cookies

Here is a terrific recipe for M&M lactation cookies! Great for giving yourself a boost throughout the day (and a much deserved snack).

Yield: about 4 dozen

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seed
    (or buy flax seed and stick it in your food processor)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup brewer’s yeast
    (must be brewer’s yeast, not other kinds!)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 2 cups M&Ms
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix water and flax seed meal into a small bowl and set aside for the moment.
  3. Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Mix in the bowl of flax seed meal.
  6. Add flour, brewer’s yeast, baking soda, and salt.
  7. Stir in oats and M&Ms.
  8. Place spoonfuls of the dough onto the baking sheets and bake for about 10 – 15 minutes depending on your oven.
  9. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them sit for about a minute or two, and them move them onto a wire rack or plate.
  10. Wait for them to cool, and enjoy!
